Management Consultant

As a management consultant I guided the development of publishing teams for large internet projects, worked on corporate strategic planning for intra/inter/extranet development, program management for large intra/internet projects including publishing, document management, consumer health care, and enterprise information portals.
Internally, I was responsible for developing methodologies for SCG, creating Internet best-practice guides and writing project development proposals.
I was part of the company management team and helped develop and implement marketing strategies.

The Minnesota Daily
Production Manager

The Minnesota Daily is the student newspaper at the University of Minnesota, and the first daily newspaper in the world that published every day on the internet. I had deadline responsibility as well as responsibility for quality control, pre-press and publishing systems development, training and maintenance. I supervised a staff of up to 45 students, organized into three departments.

I provided program management on web interfaces for enterprise applications, consulted on web initiative implementation planning, developed company best practices for web design and quality assurance.
Internally, I provided sales and marketing support and recruiting.

IVI Publishing, Inc.
Production Manager

I was hired to develop an online publishing department and lead the production and operations team which created and managed Mayo Health O@sis (www.mayohealth.org). Responsibilities included hiring and training staff, developing policies, procedures, coding standards, evaluating and selecting software tools as well as leading a team of designers, programmers, content providers (editors) and marketing staff.
Additional projects included Onhealth.com (now a part of WebMD) on which I was part of the management team, St. Jude Medical, and North Memorial Hospital.

Associate

As an associate with this small marketing communications firm I provided a wide range of services included strategic planning, copywriting, broadcast writing and editing, and special events programming. Clients included The Greater Minneapolis Girl Scout Council, United Way of Minneapolis, The Minnesota Council of the United Church of Christ and other non profit organizations.
